Morgan Lewis - Case Study
We See Our Clients As Partners
Overview
Morgan Lewis is a globally recognized law firm founded in 1873 that provides comprehensive litigation, corporate, finance, restructuring, employment and benefits, and intellectual property services across all major industries. Their firm helps clients address and anticipate challenges across vast and rapidly changing landscapes. According to their website, "At Morgan Lewis, we see our clients as partners. Whether you've been with us for days or decades, whether you're today's industry leader or tomorrow's game-changer, we're always responsive and always on." This is a core value that our team at shopPOPdisplays wholeheartedly understands.
Concept & Design
Upon first encounter, the team at Morgan Lewis needed a dozen pedestals and fast. Their request was very specific—the pedestals had to be fabricated, finished, and then shipped to two separate locations. Once they arrived to the first location they were to be loaded on a truck with coordinating items for display and then delivered to the second and final location, two time zones away. They asked, and we delivered.
The collaboration was a smashing success, so much that they came back for more!
Another Quick Design Request...
Their second request was a bit more imaginative. They envisioned freestanding, interactive polling displays that needed to be situated onsite for an employee conference 2 weeks from their request date, meaning it had to be fabricated, shipped, and installed across the country as soon as possible...nothing that we couldn't handle in a pinch.
What they wanted consisted of various large fixtures that would serve as polling booths for Morgan Lewis employees. These fixtures were built to display questions that would be stationed on a separate backer. In front of the backer would sit a base with holes to support long tubes that would be divided into different columns below the questions to collect ping-pong balls as anonymous responses from employees attending the conference.
Our Solution
With limited time, our team of engineers and designers had to be resourceful, move quickly, and create a sustainable, yet (somewhat) simple solution that would look great and ship easy. How did we do it? In order to speedily deliver quality work you need manpower, access to various kinds of material, and a very strong design team. Conveniently, we had all three.
Taking the specs that the Morgan Lewis team had provided, our engineers used our CAD software to analyze materials and determine the appropriate center of gravity to help balance and support these large displays. In total we had to build five, each custom constructed with unique design principles and color palettes. Our team went straight to the drawing board to come up with a solution that would be visually stimulating, secure, and economically smart to ship.
Ergo, the blueprint for a knock down interactive polling display was born.
Constructed of expanded PVC foam board, acrylic tubes, and a wooden base, the interactive displays were purposefully designed so they could be disassembled and shipped flat. All parts were placed into a crate and shipped on an oversized pallet that was transported via air freight. The shipment arrived on time with easy-to-follow instructions for quick assembly from their team.
